Scheduling annual training for a workforce comprised
of over 50,000 employees is a daunting task. Each employee works different
shifts, keeps their own schedule, has vacations, dentist appointments, and
is working full time so are already very busy. A Fortune 500 company wanted
to schedule classroom training for employees that recognized and
respected their individual schedules and work hours.
AboutTime worked with the existing Learning Management
System and Staff Scheduling system to implement a system that
scheduled classrooms, instructors, locations, and students so that the
individual schedules of each employee was taken into consideration.
Instead of booking a course and seeing how many employees registered
for it, the company could book the course, room, instructors and
students to ensure everyone was available and that their calendars
were updated and filled in.
The result is a much higher attendance at courses, more effective training, and a higher
completion rate. By honoring employees individual schedules and shifts
when scheduling courses, companies can achieve much more effective and
productive staff.
